Cleaner Wins World’s Biggest Bingo Win

A cleaner has won what is thought to be the world's biggest ever bingo win - and is splitting the £1.2m prize with her neighbour. Soraya Lowell, 38, scooped the National Bingo Game and its Platinum Jackpot on Sunday night, netting £1,167,795.

She said: "I must be on a lucky run just now but I still can't get my head around that amount of money. It just won't sink in at all."

The mother-of-four has decided to give half of her winnings to Agnes O'Neill, 68, her neighbour and bingo companion who was with her when she won the jackpot.

Despite her win, Mrs Lowell has vowed to return back to work. Mrs Lowell said her husband Frankie did not believe her when she telephoned him to break the news of her win.

Bingo hall manager Mandy Smith said: "Soraya's a lovely person.

"Everyone is over the moon for her because it really couldn't have happened to a nicer person."
