Bingo mum scoops £201,000

A lucky Telford mum has scooped more than £201,000 at her regular Sunday bingo night. The 33-year-old, who has asked not to be named, was playing at the Mecca Bingo Club in Southwater Square.

She won the National Bingo Game prize of £200,000, plus the regional prize of £1,228 and the £159 club prize.

The woman said that she had had the last laugh on her older sister who used to tease her for playing the game.

"She is 16 months older than me and always took the mick about my playing bingo, but I told her it was not just an old people's game," she said. "She sent me a text saying 'Your granny thing paid off!'

"It has been a fantastic year for me. I got married in June, and my husband and I started our own business which is doing well and now this win.
